USCIS Account lockout..

Well, I managed to lock out my USCIS account, by entering the wrong password too many times.

I attempted to reset the password, by supplying my E-mail address and answering "the secret question". The site claimed that a temp password was sent, but I got zip. Tried that three times.

I can still check progress with the case number, but the logon method is much easier.

Any ideas?

I am just about done with USCIS, thank goodness...

No idea there...and as far as being done with USCIS, well, you still have AOS to wade through. Glad to hear she's almost there! :)

Yeah, forgot about that AOS thing. Does AOS progress information appear on the USCIS site also?

Thanks Karen, We cannot wait for her arrival.

Yes...we've just signed up for online case status for our AOS, EAD, and AP. So far nothing except that they have our cases. I've also signed up for email notification as well. Time to hurry up and wait...again. The best part is...we can wait it out together. :luv:

William, why not set up an account with another e-mail address? It can be done with no problems at all...

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Mew,

That is not a bad idea. The only catch is that I am currently using my work e-mail account. I am also fortunate enough to have a company supplied blackberry, so that I get notification of updates 24/7.

On the other hand, the blackberry works equally well 24/7 for work related e-mail.

I will try to call USCIS first. Your advice is plan B.

Thanks Mew.

Hmmm, another possibility is to set a gmail account. You can get e-mails on your cell phone/wireless gadget. http://mail.google.com/mail/help/intl/en/about_mobile.html - I know, I know! Maybe you don't want another e-mail account and calling the USCIS is much easier. I'm just throwing some ideas... So... that's Plan C for you! :)

Much to my surprise, the 4th try was the charm. I just went for the password reset again and actually got an e-mail!!! Back in the game for updates.

Seems it needs to be done after midnight!

Thanks for the help.
