Thanks for your reply boiler.

I have been speaking to international admissions officer, but they have said that they have not impact on the decision that is made by the consulate officer. So they cant do much. I haven't actually spoken to a immigration lawyer in regarsd to my case. I iwll have to look into this, i will search for one. do you know any cheap ones maybe.

I do not expect that the Uni could influence, more that they would have dealt with thousands of these and no doubt come across this issue before and would be able to make more valid comments.

UK based Lawyers tend to be more expensive than US based Lawyers. The ones I have come across have not been in conjunction with Student Visa's. Not sure if that would matter.

I would start with summarising your situation and everything you can think of that may have had an impact on the IO's decision.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

What is it that this school in the US has to offer that you cannot obtain from a school in the UK. The denial may not be about you, but it may be about the institution that you are trying to attend.

I would think outside of the box first, before I try to obtain a lawyers help.

UK based Lawyers tend to be more expensive than US based lawyers. But you have the advantage of face to face rather than doing it by phone/e mail.

so I have found a lawyer that is reasonable priced and seem to know what he is talking about (not that i know anything about US immigration). His name is Steven D Heller (US immigration lawyer in the UK)http://www.us-visa.co.uk. Have you guys heard of him on this forum before.

Personally I dont think just having your husband back in UK will be enough to show the ties. My logic is since your husband can always travel on VWP and can be with you. You need some solid ties like property or something that would gurantee you would go back to UK after you are done with your school.

I have recently come across positive comments about Heller.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
