Hi everyone, I have question and I hope someone can help me understand it. My husband is not a US citizens, but he have his green card. I am a US citizens. We want to adopt one of his brothers child and we are trying to find a way to do it. I was serching online and they said that you have to get an adoption agency. Do anyone know how to do this?

4/10/07- I-129 Received Pkg

4/23/07- Received NOA-1

8/23/07- NOA-2

8/29/07- Left NVC

9/04/07- Received by Consulate

9/27/07- Pick up pkg 3&4

11/19/07- INTERVIEW DATE-APPROVED

11/27/07- Picks up visa

01/14/08- Leaves Nigeria

01/15/08- US Entry in New Orleans

02/02/08- Wedding Date

04/11/08- Send forms I-485 and I-765

04/13/08-Received AOS and EAD

Are either of the child's parents alive? If so, that may make it more difficult.

The child must be an orphan if you want to adopt them AND bring them to the USA this way.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

There is no way to adopt a relatives child and bring them to the US if there is a way for the childs family to raise them in accordance to the standards of the home country. In Nigeria those standards are very low. You can adopt but the child will not be able to come to the US

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Why can not the parents not look after the boy?

There may be options.
