Filipinas: Is the cert. of live birth the same as a birth cert.?

Is a certificate of live birth equivalent to a birth certificate for the CR-1? My wife in the Philippines can't seem to grasp what a birth certificate is. Today I received a certificate of live birth from her along with her signed DS-230 and other documents. How can I make her understand, or do I have it wrong?

A certificate of live birth is acceptable. It is the same document the U.S. President has so if it's good enough for him it is good enough for this purpose. Many children in foreign lands are born at home without the west's paper trails.

Hi..in the Philippines we call it "Birth Certificate" actually and it is known in that calling anywhere here. The "Certificate of Live Birth" is the title of document itself but it is the same and only one document. goodluck in your journey..
