My husband would like to extend his b2 visa for 4 more months. His reasoning is that he got asked to be the best man at his cousins wedding and also just so we can spend xmas together and be together since i will not be able to visit him in his country any time soon. I would just like to know how likely it is for him to get an extension. This is his first time asking in all of his 10 yrs having this visa, and will be the last since we are sending the papers for him to get his PR in canada in about a month. He has about 2000 dollars saved in the bank and frequently receives money that his dad sends to him from when he worked for his dad in his home country. How can I show that he can support himself and that he receives help from his dad? The person he is staying with is his grandmother and she gives him all the essentials but cannot fill out the 1-134 form since she does not work and receives assistance from the government. Would it be enough to send a bank letter from his dad as well as a bank letter from him showing the available funds? Also, should I send some sort of proof showing the address of his grandmother along with a notarized letter stating he can stay with her for the remainder of his trip.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Ana.

How long was he admitted for?

Why can he not just come back for Christmas?

I take it you are moving to Canada?

He was admitted for 6 months and cannot come back for christmas since his visa expires before then. Since he will be getting papers for Canada hopefully shortly, we thought it would just be better to ask for more time rather than getting another visa that he wont really need since he will have his PR for Canada. I live in Canada

So you live in Cananda and he has been living in the US on a visitors visa?

Worst case is they say no and he is unlikely to want or get another visa so I do not see the downside.

It's getting really confusing here: on another topic you are asking info about getting a tourist visa for Canada from US. In this topic you are asking info about extending a B2, I believe the main purpose actually being immigrating to Canada.

In that case, I would say forget about plana A. For plan B, chances are very slim.
