Hi All,

This is a repost but it's pertinent to Canadians trying to do AOS. So, we had our interview today and it's a big "?" for me. The IO kept asking me questions about how I entered. I entered as a Canadian visitor at the border and did not receive a stamp or I-94 in my passport. This is very normal for Canadians and I have come to the states many times without getting a stamp of I-94, but still she said she needed to review the case more to check this issue. Does anyone know what happens with cases like these? I'm so disappointed that she didn't tell us she planned to approve us. She did say at the end that she had to check it and then she would give a decision and she smiled but still. Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Other than that it went relatively well. I think. My husband still had a Georgia license even though he's been living in L.A for almost 2 years now but we had lease, pay stubs, utilities and taxes to prove that he has moved here.

He also blanked on my mom's name and called her Karen instead of Susan. But got my dad's name right. He has only met them once as they live in Canada and have only come to visit once last year and he doesn't talk to them on a regular basis.

When you entered the states, did you say you were activating a K-1 visa? That's the point that you're supposed to get the I-94 stapled into your passport.

The OP will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she entered as a visitor and has stayed.

It sounds like your interviewing officer is not experienced in addressing Canadians who are applying from a visitor status. Once she verifies that no, Canadian visitors do not get an I-94 unless they are actually using some sort of physical visa, you should be fine.

I guess you're right.
