I received my 130 approval in 158 days. The conversations between my wife and me are personal. No one, absolutely no one, has the right to see them. To want to see them is gross violation of our fundamental human rights. Marriage certificates are legal documents admissible in all courts of the world as proof of marriage. That is what's sufficient for USCIS.

I understand it's different if you are applying for a fiance. The burden of proof lies on the person since there hasn't been a legal/civil marriage yet.

Glad you were approved at USCIS. I wouldn't take the chance of using just a marriage certificate as the only proof of a "bonafide" marriage at our interview. It looks very clear to me from the instructions that there has to be secondary evidence to collaborate what the marriage certificate claims.

Yes you are absolutely right.

USCIS will give hard time to certain countries where the immigration fraud is relatively higher. That's why all these secondary evidences of the marriage relationship are required.

My 2 secondary evidences were:

1) 2 notarized affidavits from my parents

2) Our daughter's birth certificate

Also, we plan to back-load more evidences at the interview time.

We just sent a sampling of the chats, text messages and 20 or so emails. It was recommended to us not to send copies of everything as that could just annoy the good folks at USCIS. We were told however that it is ok to bring this all to the interview. I know they don't ever actually read any of it before making their decision which is annoying. Just pray every day that we don't get the VO that everyone complains about at the interview.

I think I will do that, instead of sending all the chat I will send some and also captures some of my text message and send that to.

And true I can bring more to the interview if the USCIS wants more.

I agree with IndigoSkies... no one will have time to read all of that and the cost to post it will be high. My conversations with my husband is our business and no one elses.

Of course nobody is going to read it. The whole purpose of it is in the case the CO asks how often we communicate and she says every day, she can easily show it. No explanation necessary. It's all in the books. If we had phone records we would use those, but in our case we don't. Let's face it, our photos are ours, our certificates are ours. Nobody is entitled to see them if we don't want, but then again nobody is entitled to a visa either.

You will be surprised in the end to find out that much of this info people say you need to show will never be asked to be seen in the end. I have found in this journey that a lot of the things I have read on here, did not happen on my case.... I submitted two letters that were notorized to prove that my husband and I were married in the UK and have been together for over 3 years.... I was told by the immigration office that that is all anyone needs.

When I submitted my I-130 for my wife and stepson.. I sent exactly what they asked for... no more..

I am keeping all travel records, receipts, photos, phone/chat logs for the interview..

My wife is Chinese but an Australian citizen, who has spent the last four months in China with her ailing mom..

I have spent 5 weeks out of the last 6 months in China.. If they want paper.. I can provide it..

Was accepted on 5/14... and got notice today, that we have moved to the next step..

I have read on some of the K1 China Interviews, that the Interviewer read and did not like some of the reading, like using the words husband or wife, on a Fiancee Visa type. So if you submit chat samples to show that you can communicate, one must be careful of the wording.

Thanks, everyone

I just the I-130 today on Friday at 3pm so, I can relax now until I get my first NOA. I am a bit worry though I made everything close to perfect, but had to put the paper work in a medium size priority box which did not fit. I am worry all my hard work will be swishing around. I hope the AACOO paperclip will hold. Was kicking myself on the drive back to work.

hmmmm

Now it's in the hands of the USCIS gods

I didn't send a single sentence of chat or even a single picture of us. I didn't even send a cover letter like everyone else here seem to do. This is all I sent

  • I130 form
  • G325A for me
  • G325A for her
  • Copy of my citizenship certificate
  • Copy of my passport
  • Copy of our marriage certificate
  • Copies of our birth certificate
  • Her passport sized pictures

I received my 130 approval in 158 days. The conversations between my wife and me are personal. No one, absolutely no one, has the right to see them. Well, there are "gross violation of our fundamental human rights", and there are people that often do not get a Visa. Getting a Visa comes down to the "descretion" or "personal opinion" of the Interviewing Officer. USCIS, no conversation samples, probably no problem. NVC, no conversation samples, probably, no problem. Interview, who knows.
