Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen. My wife filed her AOS on August, 25th. We got our receipt notice in the mail on September 2nd. We still haven't received our biometrics appointment letter!!!

I calles the 1800 USCIS number last week and they did a service request. Nothing new so far...

What are my best options? Should I schedule an Infospass? Contact my local congressman? Wait? ( I am tired of waiting, our case is already way outside of processing time)

Thanks a lot for your help!

I am the US citizen, my wife is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa:

August 25th, 2010: Filed AOS package to USCIS

August 27th, 2010: Package received by USCIS

September 2nd, 2010: Received I797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

October 14th, 2010: Received biometrics appointment letter (will be on Nov 5th)

AOS interview will be on January 13th, 2011!

January 13th, 2011: Approved at the day of the interview

Next step, removal of conditions

Hi there ! I arrived to US on K1 visa and we filed our AOS on August 24th. I also received a notification on September 2nd. I had my biometircs appointment 7 days ago. So hopefully you will also have some news soon ! The whole process may take up to 6 months. I'd advise you to check your case status online regularly, they update there in what stage is your case at the moment. Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do and put the number which was indicated on your NOA.

Hopefully you will have some news soon.

best,

Bimik

Hi...i also filled around the same time you did and haven't received my biometric letter yet. I aslo call USCIC and did a service request. All we can both do now is wait. doing an Info pass or calling the congressman will do no good since we're still within normal processing timelines. just be patient. i know it's hard, but you and i have no choice

I applied for my AOS in May and come Sept I still had not recieved my bio appointment letter. I did put in a service request and they just told me that the ASC was backed up and that I was in the queue. Since I was out of the processing window for my EAD and very near the processing timelimit for my AOS I did contact our congressman. They were able to get me an appointment within a day (I talked to them on Friday and had an appt on Monday) I am also very late in a pregnancy so travelling was getting to be an issue for me.

What ASC are you going to for you biometrics? There are a few that I have read about that are quite backed up.

Hi,

I live in San Diego CA so I guess I'll have to go to the San Diego service center for biometrics. I think I'll wait for the answer to the service request and based on that, contact our congressman.

Does USCIS send a response to the service request by mail? Or do they just call? Send an email?

Thanks for your help!
