I am trying to get an idea after Service Center Approval HOW long is it before National Visa Center is able to schedule our interview?

AND I do not have the case ID yet.. As my husband is in Bangladesh, he wants to appoint me the recipient of the package materials and I will fly to Dhaka when the interview is to be scheduled, but I have no idea what to expect from this... AND can not get through with the phone lines down.

Sorry but the best advice I can give you is just keep trying...

I finally got through...after 30 minutes of waiting! (Thank goodness for rollover minutes!) :blink::wacko:

Got the answers I need...just waiting for one more piece of mail and we will comply with their request for information...can't believe they don't know we're here in the U.S. already...weird.

yeah, NVC number has been busier than ever since last few days and I mean it wacko.gif

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

As others have said, keep trying. It's easier to get through very early in the morning or very late at night, about an hour before they close.

Now, even if you get through, they cannot give you a date of when they'll be able to schedule your interview because that all depends on how fast the choice of agent pays all fees and sends the forms and documents they need to review before closing the case.

thanks Diana. Yeah I am trying to get basic automated information to start out with.

I am trying to establish myself as choice of agent and address because if they send to my husband (beneficiary) he wont get it..

As others have said, keep trying. It's easier to get through very early in the morning or very late at night, about an hour before they close.

Yeah, NVC is soooo BUSY. I can't get a hold of them the whole day of trying on Oct 12. The following day at 7:25am I started dialing already and it was busy still. I kept on re-dialing and finally got thru at 2:47 in the afternoon. Wheeww...
