You're dodging the point. How does the $1 trillion military expenditure assist the average America or the economy? Why is it okay to borrow from China to pay for that, just not anything else? Why is wastage, okay in that sector? And I know there is wastage, as I've heard it firsthand from a a number of people who work in that area; from private contractors to auditors.

PS Australia doesn't need to borrow to fund anything. That's what happens when you collect taxes.

Did they really have their chance? I mean, what can you do in one year and nine months, when the economy is doing awesome, let alone during the worst financial crisis since the depression?

For me, I take country first literally. So when I see people in a country I am residing in suffering and the country falling apart, politics goes out the window and its time for real results. Politics is not some NFL game, where I get happy my team is winning. People's lives, Q.O.L and our future depend on it.

China is going to overtake and people are still going to be clinging on to tax cuts, anti-government and Reagan.

They called the theatre commander "General Betrayus" UNTIL Obama appointed him in charge of Afghanistan and threw in thousainds more troops and spent billions more on the wars. Politics? Who is spending the defense money now? Who could have stopped it? Who could stop it today? Why have they not attempted to de-fund the war since Obama was there to sign the legislation?

Your idea of "politics" goes out the window is fine as long as your guys are winning. But we will see.

The country will still be "falling apart" on November 3rd. People will still be suffering on November 3rd. We will see if politics is still out the window and results are more important. We'll see. I am looking forward to it...are you?

Speaking of "politics" During the debate for the health care legslation, it was Obama making deals with DEMOCRATS. He had a huge majority in the House and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate and couldn;t pass health care because the DEMS stopped it! He wasn;t makijng deals with Repubs. The Repubs were helpless to stop it. Ted Kennedy's seat should never have been a factor (and should never have been lost) But the DEMs even out-politic themselves. So much for the good of the "little people"

Incidently...which military hardware did the Aussies produce? I mean buying someone else's lemonade is a lot cheaper than mixing your own. What is the Aussie leading technology in military hardware? They can't even design their own rifles and never have. That's pretty low tech stuff, Americans were hacking rifles out of maple trees 300 years ago. And they beat the bejeezus out of the world's leading super-power with them. Hmmmm.
