RCMP Police Clearance

Does anyone know if I need fingerprinting done for my police clearance. I want to get this done now that we have our petition approved.

I thought we just had to get local police clearance? we need RCMP too? damn. I think Loto mentioned that they're only good for 3 months? I might be wrong..

You only need fingerprinting done *if* you have a criminal record.

Anyways..thanks for the info. US CBP has my prints 5 times over..I'm not hard to find.

US CBP have mine too from the time I got turned away at a land crossing..... Why did they take yours so many times CanadianRedneck? I have traveled since and they haven't taken them again. I figured since they have me on record they won't have to do them again?

Long story, they like me..I havent' been finger printed since June...no more problems..They got me in the system, pictures..fingerprints..the Jeep...my favorite camo pattern...my fav cigs..just crazy..they're like cousins to me that I only like to see once a year..and when they're in a good mood.

RCMP police clearances are needed. It needs to be a CPIC check or a search of the national repository (Must have those on the police clearance)

They are good for 1 year after issuance - meaning, that Montreal will only accept it one year after it is issued

I asked around the Canada forums and received a response saying that a local police office can do the PCC, and a RCMP check isn't required.

Mine, from my local office, indicates that a Canada wide search has been completed...as well as a search in my current city and my hometown.

Thanks! I got nervous for a minute.

Mine states that a "Canada Wide Search of the following information has been processed" then it has my name, DOB, etc.. and that no criminal record was found. It does not use the words Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or the national criminal records repository...but I'm assuming it's good as per the wording listed above.

I also got a vulnerable sector (children, elderly) completed as this check was for employment.

What about your parking tickets? I'm sure glad USCIS doesn't require a credit check for the Beneficiary. Ok, we can get all that done at the Local PoPo office and they include the Canada Wide search...what's the cost on something like that?

Mine costed me $40...and took about 3 weeks to get. Getting a parking ticket is not a crime. The records only show criminal charges.
