Using the Wii in Vietnam

So my wife and I are taking a Wii with us on our upcoming trip to Vietnam for some family fun.

Has anyone done this and what precautions should I be taking as far as voltage? Does anyone know if the Wii is dual voltage and if not I guess I could use a converted?

Also will the games work on Vietnam's format of video? I think it is PAL or something.

Any help is appreciated.

Video in Vietnam is NTSC - not PAL. I played videos I'd recorded on my camcorder at several people's homes without problems. The camcorder I brought was an older digital 8mm which only records and outputs NTSC.

The standard Wii AC adapter is 110 to 240 volts, 50 or 60 hertz. Some of the Chinese made power supplies were only 100V. The specs should be printed on the adapter.

We brought back 3 GameCube counsels a few years back and they worked fine. Still being used actually...

No problems with power (except when they cut it off completely for hours at a time...)

Most electronics are dual voltage, as everyone has said, look at the power supply, and if it says something like 115/240 then you are good to go. If you bring your Wii you should be able to watch Vietnamese videos on it since most are bootleg copies which means they have no region, however if you bring videos to watch, they will probably not play in her familys DVD players unless they have a multi region DVD player, which by the way is more and more common every day. I brought like 300 movies when I moved here, and we bought a Sony Multi region DVD player, so that we could watch them on something other than one of our 3 laptops. You might even be able to buy bootleg games for it while you are here, I know you have to be careful with the bootleg xbox360 games because of the online play, if Microsoft catches you playing a bootleg game online they will ban your account, and can even block your machine, but the Wii does not have the same type of online games as the xbox or playstation. Thank You for all your good advice. We brought a new black version and the Power supply was not dual voltage. We are using a converter and it is working well. The family is having a great time using it.

Step-Sons interview is approaching quickly. Got to have Pink. Isn't it Breast Cancer Awareness month and the color is Pink????????
