Laws vary from state to state, but, in many states, a child younger than 16 may marry with permission from a parent. That is the same way it was done in the time of Jesus and Muhammad (PBUT).

Guess it was good to get the parents permission to marry their 9 year old except it was younger and he couldn't wait no more and forced the issue at the age of 9.

You have no proof of that, but since you're so critical of ancient marital practices, are you also against Biblical incest and repelled by the teenage pregnancy of the Virgin Mary?

Actually I can copy and paste a lot that says he did and even in Aisha's own words if you want. She said herself that she was 6 when she was betrothed and moved into the prophets house with her toys and dolls. She also stated that he could not wait anymore and at the age of 9 she had consummated the marriage. She became his favorite until he died when she was 18. A Quran Surah was handed down when the prophet was having sex with her at a very young age. These are in her own words.

If you want I will also find in her own words where she describes washing the prophets clothes of semen from him playing with young boys.

In just four States may a child younger than 16 marry, with or without parental permission. 18 yo is uniform for marriage without parental consent, except for Puerto Rico which is 21 years old without consent. Massachusetts oddly has the lowest age with parent or judicial permission, but lots of restrictions, followed by New Hampshire, Missouri and Hawaii. All have quite a few restrictions, and would be considered "special circumstances" when granted, not "We are totally cool with Marriage at this age, or it is what our Prophet did so we are down with it too." Actually I found those results surprising, learn something new everyday.

16 years old is the Federal age of consent for making whoopy.

Marriage laws for minors are not as uniform as you suggest. There are plenty of circumstances where children under the age of 16 can marry, and it's not particularly arduous.

Also, you characterize Muslims as having a very casual attitude toward marriage and marriage age. That is your bias, clearly, but it doesn't make it true. Sharia laws regarding marriage do not favor child marriages, although there are customs that do that are by no means limited to Muslims. Muhammad was married for 25 years to a single woman, 15 years his senior, and married no other woman until she died. He married a single virgin; most of his other wives were divorcees, widows and rejects as an example of how to treat women on the margins of society.

For anyone offended by out of our norm marriages taking place in ancient times in the Middle East, I strongly suggest that you contact your pastor or priest and inform them that you will no longer attend church to worship Jesus because his mom was underage when he was born, she didn't marry his father, but another, much older man who would today be a registered sex offender in your state.

Tell him that His family was trailer park trash who impregnated their daughters and married brothers and sisters, numerous wives, including one whose husband was sent to the front lines of war to die because you coveted his wife. You should add that you're not fond of prophets who knock up slaves, then send them off into the desert with your eldest son to possibly die because his first wife doesn't want them around anymore.

What kind of God comes from such rabble anyway?

Yours does. Is that ok with you?

Disgusting...

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The rules about ahadith is that to be valid, they must comport to the Quran. Many don't, including the one you cite, along with others denigrating women and calling for practices condemned in the Quran.

Because their is nothing in the Quran to support this report, and there is other information that contradicts it, it cannot be relied upon.

However, the information in the Bible about who committed incest and had a man killed so he could have his wife, and underage pregnancy, etc. are in the book and clear. I notice everyone is avoiding comment on their own book and what they worship. Why is that?

I would never show the kind of disrespect and denial so-called "Christians" who know little about their own faith display toward Islam. They post nonsense as if they are authorities about another faith while ignoring what's in their own book. Apparently, it is more important to some that they spend time posting demeaning and false statements about others instead of learning about their own.
