Hi all!

As usual, thank you all again for the extremely helpful information. I wouldn't be able to make it through without everyone's help.

Straight to it then! Our application is still in the CSC waiting for NOA2, and have just recently moved to a new place (yay!). I was told earlier that I shouldn't change my address while waiting for the NOA2, not because I'm not allowed to, simply because the application risks being lost. So a few questions.

(1) Should I still wait to change my address (and if so when should I and how)?

(2) If I decide to change it now, is there a specific way og going about it?

(3) Any important info that I may need?

Thanks again for all the help!

Yes, the change of address is needed by both the petitioner and the beneficiary while the application is pending to obey the law and to get the mails properly. Contact the USCIS# and change it.

(1). If you have easy access to mail at the old address (such as family members), keep it until the visa is obtained. Once you receive the NOA2 it's pretty much no longer about you, it's about the immigrant.

(2). Yes. Here is the online page: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

(3). Remember to call and check about a week after you've changed your address to see what address they have on file. Depending on where you moved from, let the people there know your address should they get any for you (such as if its your parents/friends house). Also remember to register online because if they try to mail you something and it gets returned you will be notified online.

Changing your address IS risky but if you move, you move. It just needs to be followed up on. Don't assume because you did it online or sent a form that someone processed it correctly..

Good luck!

**Edit - if you have already filed an I-864 (I'm not sure about CR-1 visas) then you will need to file an I-865 to change your address. When the immigrant has arrived in the US you have 10 days between moving to change your address... both you AND the immigrant.
