Waiting with my fiancee in the US on a tourist visa

I know this is a very common question but I just want to make sure if theres any problem if I temporarily stay in the US. My fiancee and me are actually waiting for the NOA2, we received our NOA1 on June 29 and it seems that its gonna take a while til we get the NOA2, our filing location is the CSC so you know what Im talking about, hehe

Our plan is to spend time together while waiting for the the NOA2 and once we get it I would then return to my home country to finish the process. I hold a B1/B2 Tourist Visa and I think I have plenty of evidence to demonstrate that Im returning to my home country at the port of entry.

I wonder if this affect in the interview when they ask about your activities, Im currently working as an Engineer but I wonder if its gonna be ok if I tell them that I quit my job and then waited 2 months in the US with my fiancee because we wanted to be together?

Any advice/opinions are welcome

Thanks!

We're also waiting for our NOA2. The last time our case was updated or as what everyone call it touched was 10/3/2010 and right now we are thinking of going through spending holiday together under B1/B2 visa type. Then once we receive the NOA2 i'll go back to my country for the medical and interview. Tried to look for information regarding this topic but haven't found any. Just like u i am hoping people who had an experience can give us advice here in VJ....

you can try, but honest, I dont think anyone can prove they will come back if you are awaiting a visa to allow you to immigrate to the US. Once in the US you could just file for a change of status here.

i wouldnt waste the cash if i were you :)

Be very wary. This is a post from one of our september filers experiences going through JFK recently. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/274047-september-2010-k1-filers/page__st__180

He was travelling on a visa waiver, but he had evidence of ties back home.

Most importantly always be truthfull at POE. if they ask what you do for work, and you tell them that you quit your job, you may not be in the USA very long. You need to show that you have a good amount of money, to be able to support yourself whilst in the country

If you currently have a visa, of course you can try and visit. Admittance and duration of stay are up to the CBP at the time of crossing. There is no guarentee. Currently holding a valid tourist visa simply means you can apply for admission, it is not a guarentee of entrance.

If you do not currently have a tourist visa, you may apply for one.

You will need to provide strong ties to your home country - and if admitted, you may only stay for the allotted time

Good luck
