Hello VJers!!!

I'm a Canadian living in the Toronto area and I'm married to a US citizen. I had an interview in Montreal at the end of June and the interviewer in Montreal US Consulate asked me to submit a police certificate from Italy and my wife's tax papers for 2009 along with my passport. He also mentioned that I'm done with the interview and I don't need to come back to Montreal again. The interview was fairly easy and it did not take long (I was not asked to prove my relationship with my wife) although I had several pictures and letters and plane tickets.

My question is, it has been 6 weeks since I've mailed my passport, the Italian police certificate and the tax papers. I've verified that the consulate had received my envelop the next day. Is it normal that it takes this long to mail back the passport with a visa?

I sent the consulate an e-mail asking if I should keep waiting and they said, normally takes several weeks to review the case.

Please help and thanks for your reply.
