Hi all,

My wife's income for the last three years is as follows:

2007: 300 USD

2008: o USD

2009: 6000 USD

2010: 6000 USD

Does she still need to file taxes in USA? Her uncle is the co-sponsor for me and he is making 107K/year.

You can find a lot of great information right here >>>> IRS Guide for Individuals This is for 2009. The amounts may be different for prior years.

Also, if there were federal (or state) taxes witheld then filing would enable her to get that money back.

Sometimes there are programs (like the Federal Stimulus program) where you need to file to get the money. Do some investigating and you may find a few bucks to help pay for all the filing fees.

Her uncle's income doesn't have any bearing on her filing taxes.
