IV processing time at NVC

Hello all,

I've sent my IV instruction packet off, it arrived with them on the 4th of this month, I have been searching around on here and other sites to find an average time line between them receiving my instruction packet at the NVC and the Interview date given, my wife and I were told it takes approx' 2 to 4 weeks for the NVC to process it and close the case but I'm seeing all sorts of time lines suggesting 2 to 4 months!!!

Anyone have a better understanding than myself about this period between the NVC receiving the IV packet in New Hampshire and the interview date being given to my wife and I, is it really 2 to 4 months or can we wishfully expect it sooner?

We are grateful for some help on this matter.

may want to study the October NVC thread at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/276525-nvc-filers-for-october-2010/

and the November Interview Thread at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/275348-november-2010-interviews/

most of the timing issues are covered in both threads.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It takes them about a week to actually receive the packet and another week to attach the packet to your case, and this is from experience from my case. If then everything is completed correct and that they dont request anything else from you, it shouldnt take more than 3 weeks for them to review the packet. So looking at a timeframe from 3 to 5 five weeks since the date you mailed the packet to the date of the case completed by NVC. Now in the other hand,if you get an RFE, then it takes longer, and it will take time for them to process and review the RFE. I sent my packet 4 in the second week of july, and until august 13 I didnt get any response at all. Then that day they reqested a missing document from me and I mailed it within 3 days. In that time the waiting time was long for everyone because the NVC said, (talked in the phone with representative) that there is a big influx of applications. So for me my case was completed on Sep 22, and I just got the letter for the interview, well its actually my husband's interview, and his interview is on Nov 23. Hopefully this helps and I think it should not take that long as in the summer anymore,so just be patient and wait. Good luck to you.

you are welcome, and i forgot to mention that the quickest way to find out if your case has been completed is too call NVC, ans speak to a representative, at least thats how I found out, and for the interview letter I got an email from NVC.
