Hi Everyone! Just been looking around for some good places to live. I love it here, but I'm trying to find a good place to find a better job with my business degree. I've been searching for jobs and using monster as well to do that. I wish I could help Daniel find a job but it's far too in the future, at least I think to do that. He's really good with computers though, and he says he's up for living anywhere :) I was just trying to find ideas to show him though ! Thanks for your input

If you have a business degree there is probably no better place than New York City;

if you prefer warmer climates you might try Miami.

On a completely different note, if income is not the utmost priority,

you might try a college town in a country setting. I went to the

State University College of NY at New Paltz and I always think

of it as an idyllic place to live. There are many many towns

like that in almost every state, but the things they have in common

are the cultural activities (plays, live music performances, etc.) that

are often very cheap or free and open to the local public as well as

students. Sometimes many of the college or university facilities are

open to locals at discounted prices.

If you want to take a course in something that interests you,

you won't have to travel far. yes.gif

Hi! Yeah, I've been to new york and that city is absolutely insane! I wish I could afford to live there! It's gorgeous, I love NYC and would love to go back. It's just the process of looking for a job, I pretty much need to have a job lined up before I go anywhere, it's something that I prefer because although I've saved, it's definitely not enough just yet. Yeah I've been looking into medium to larger cities, I like the hustle and bustle, but it can't be hugely expensive. I like the homey feel too so I'd like to live in a nice neighborhood. I love taking transportation (the love of London :) ) and also driving. I love the activities aspect as well :) :) thanks for your suggestion and help!!!

I'm actually from Upstate NY originally. I've never been to New Paltz but a friend of mine went to school there and really liked it. Another great little town with a similar feel (I'd think) is Ithaca, home of Cornell University. It's beautiful and lots of cool stuff there.

On a side note, I went to SUNY Delhi. ;)

Thank you! and you're right, it's really hard to find a job here in michigan, the unemployment rate is horrible. I got lucky and got transferred at work and got trained as a pharmacy tech. Which is nice, but I do want to finish my degree as well to give myself options.

Ithaca (known as Ilium in Kurt Vonnegut novels) - great place but I've never been there;

will drive there when I retire and poke around.
