Hi fellow vj members i was just trying to find out if anyone has had any experience of bringing their loved ones on a k1 visa through the San francisco international airport.We intend to enter the USA through SFO on October 31st and we want to get through without any problems.I have heard of horror stories at the POE where the immigration officer asks for evidence of wedding preparations when bringing a k1 visa beneficiary.Do you all think its necessary to have this evidence with us just in case its asked for. :unsure:

Not likely necessary - horror stories aside, most folks breeze right through. Check out the POE Reviews section linked by the previous poster and you'll see. :thumbs:

what a difficult journey we go through! best of luck :)

October 8th- Sent off K-1 visa package

October 21st- Received email saying we have been assigned to CSC

October 28th- Waiting on NOA1

October 29th- NOA1 received!!!

March 16th 2011- Received email saying petition for fiance has been approved and that NOA2 is in the mail!

April 12th 2011- Waiting on lettter with interview date from Dublin Embassy. Medical scheduled for 26th April

We came through SFO last December. The CBP officer was friendly and cordial, and we chatted through the process which only took about 10 minutes (I was bringing a K1 and two K2's). He stamped the visas and the I-94's, and attached the I-94's to the passports. He processed the paperwork from the sealed envelopes (dunno what he did with the papers behind the counter). He took fingerprints from everyone. He reminded me and my fiancee that we had to marry within 90 days, and told everyone "Welcome to America"!

Pretty easy! :thumbs:

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
