HOLA AMIGOS!

I FEEL UNDECIDED BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHICH IS MORE FASTER

TO BRING MY AMOR AS A FIANCE OR AS A WIFE??

I KNOW AS A WIFE IS JUST LIKE ONE PROCESS AND A LITTLE BIT MORE CHEAPER

BUT AS YOU MAY KNOW THE TIME IT'S IMPORTANT..

WHICH IS REALLY MORE FASTER????????

WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND ME!! PLEASE!!

THANK YOU FOR YOU HELP..

The spousal process from a purely immigration paperwork standpoint is slightly slower, but really the longest fiance process is longer than the shortest spousal process, so there are no guarantees that it would hold true for any individual case.

One of the things which makes the spousal process longer from engagement to permanent arrival in the US is that you have to get married before starting the immigration process, whereas for the fiance process, you can get that started right after engagement. So if you just decided to get married then were apart again you'd have to plan another trip and the wedding before you could get started on the paperwork. Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where you decided to get the fiance visa, they are half way through the process already.

Makes sense?

In my opinion, if you are willing to be apart after marriage, the spousal visa is vastly superior from a technical standpoint. As you can see from our time line, we did make the emotional decision to do the K-1, marry in the US and be together after that.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

another advantage of the spouse visa is that they enter as a permanent resident and then after two years you apply for removal of the condidions on the residency. With the fiance visa, you have to wait until after you're married to get the green card and work permit.
