If it is the case that USCIS employees read this site, then please can you try to get your mis-information line sorted out.. You guys really need to stop giving out information that is inaccurate !!! Especailly when that infomation takes money out of our pocket or has a detrimental effect on petitions and applications.

This journey is enough of a mine field already without having to get our legs blown of by receving WRONG information!

There was a Consular officer at the US Consulate in Montreal who read VJ pretty regularly - enough to identify the various VJ applicants by their user names here from their posted circumstances and related information. He mentioned it to a number of them during their interviews and it was discussed at length in the Canada forum.

It's not too difficult to put 2 & 2 together.

Whatever I write here I do with the belief that I am

never breaking any laws or immigration regulations

and would never encourage others to do so.

I do that with the assumption that immigration officials

may have identified me already; in fact one of the pics

I display was submitted as evidence of our relationship.

We have a good marriage, my wife has her GC and we have

nothing to hide.

VJ was not established to "cheat the system" but to work within their regulations.

I would love to see that post if you can find it!

While I can see a huge benefit of the USCIS folks spending some time here to understand the other side of waiting for the process, I also think it could have some drawbacks if this is in fact true. Because if you are trashing USCIS about your interactions with them, and have posted extensively about your case particulars, it would not be a far fetch of the imagination for you to encounter some ill feelings from the people you have trashed. No one likes to get their feelings hurt even government employees.

Based on the caseloads at some consulates and USCIS posts, we all should hope they are not spending too much time here because it would be taking time away from working on cases.

There were a fair number of posts about this situation. Here is the thread where it was first discussed - http://www.visajourn..._1#entry3473054 start at post # 17 and then read through - you will see a number of people who are told by the Assistant Director at the Consulate who interviews them that he knows who they are from VJ and that he reads VJ. Post #54 is also quite interesting, as is #61, #76, etc.

Then, one of the Canadian VJers wrote this open letter to the Montreal Consulate and posted it in the Canada forum, knowing that the staff (the individual named is the one who identified VJers by name at their interviews) read VJ : http://www.visajourn..._1#entry3657775

(Actually, reading the regional forums for the individuals who are going through those Consulates does add additional information that the Consular officials can use to help adjudicate a case. Personally, I think being identified with VJ by a Consular official adds credibility to your situation as it is unlikely someone pursuing a fraudulent visa would become involved in a day to day forum about their visa process.)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks! That is an interesting link, and its nice to know that the Co is so involved and enjoys his job so much, especially the fiance spouse VISA part!. I am sure it pains them greatly that Immigration law is so restrictive and they see a case that has flaws or missing paperwork that they have to deny or refer for further processing.

I would love to see a forum where Co and consulate employees discuss the most common administrative mistakes made and list what can be done by the applicants to avoid the delays they bring on themselves by not carefully filling out the paperwork and sending in the appropriate evidence.

Overall it seems the Co is a good guy and seems to be working to keep his section up to speed and keep the process running smoothly.
