Linh is returning to VN to clear up some financial and property things and will be returning with the resulting money. She will have to claim this on the customs form. We are not certain how the US taxman gets his cut. Does she pay at the airport or do we pay when we file next year? This is new ground.

We are in VN now and I believe we are only able to carry 7thousand usd out of VN. Then only USA citizens are aloud to enter USA and not declare under 10Thousand usd. I believe the number for foriegn nationals is much less for declaring. We are continuing to look into transfering monies. If caught not claiming on either end the fines are quit stiff and can include lossing all of your money. I think we are resolving to carrying the maximum allowable and come back more often and maybe have some friends help us move the money.

I sure would like to know if anyone has an easy answer for this problem. Most other countries we could do a wire transfer and might have to pay a small USA tax. VN wants to keep monies in VN. Money in and goods out.

Good luck to all,
