Hi everyone, :star:

I received the date for the interview!! So happy.

It's the 27th October!

I have another question. Tanya is sending me the I-134 (affidavit of support) and we don't know if she has to check "Intend" or "do not intend to make.....". :bonk:

In fact i will live with her without a job in the US, just the time for me to have my green card and find a job.

Can you please help us...

Ooo by the way the medical exam for me is the next Monday!!!

Nope, no need to check Intend or Do not intend...that section applies to peeps applying for Student Visa.

Your reason for moving to the US is to immigrate and live here, so of course your fiancee will make sure you have a place to live. :)

Chinook and I were K-1erz. I checked "intend."

I have read one or two posts in the past here on VJ where the consul officer caused trouble for K-1erz who did not check "intend."

Hi Guys!

Look here for what to put on affidavit of support under the 'INTEND' section

http://www.visajourn.../Form-I-134.pdf

it is an example form!

Hope this helps!

Kim

I just reviewed this form today and I understood this to be completed (of course, I woulod check off "intend"). Omit this or wirite N/A would not be appropriate, especially since the question refers to the name in question 3. My few cents................

December '09 - Met via Facebook

~ Fell in love just a few months thereafter

7/18/2010 - I flew to Trinidad and met for the first time

~ Spent two weeks, one of which was in Tobago

9/9/2010 - Mailed I-129F to Texas via Express mail

9/15/2010 - NOA1 Date

4/4/2011 - NOA2 Date

4/12/2011 - NVC received

4/25/2011 - NVC sent via DHL to consulate

5/2/2011 - Packet mailed

7/25/2011 - Visa approved

Ok, so i don't know what i have to check...

If it can help, my fiancée check the "intend" box and then put room and board. We have a co-sponsor who didn't check any box and didn't write anything.

At the embassy in Paris, no one said anything about those forms and I received my visa with no problem.

So I guess they don't care that much about this part and you can write whatever you feel.

Anyway, those are temp form since you have to submit the I-864 to AOS.

I don't think this part is a big deal.

Good luck on your journey

Bruno

My USC fiance is living with me in Ireland and so when we arrive in the US neither of us will have jobs, so he couldn't file the affidavit for me. We got a family friend in US to file for us and he ticked 'do not intend to make specific contributions', because we have a place to live and means to suport ourselves. i think this part is just for people who do not plan to stay in the US permanently, maybe students

October 8th- Sent off K-1 visa package

October 21st- Received email saying we have been assigned to CSC

October 28th- Waiting on NOA1

October 29th- NOA1 received!!!

March 16th 2011- Received email saying petition for fiance has been approved and that NOA2 is in the mail!

April 12th 2011- Waiting on lettter with interview date from Dublin Embassy. Medical scheduled for 26th April

We ticked "intend" and wrote "I will provide room and board for Vanessa indefinitely. I intend to marry her within 90 days of her arrival to the United States." We had no issues and were approved without RFE.

I don't know where people got the idea it's an answer for Student Visas only.. i haven't seen anything to indicate that. I would not write "N/A" myself because the whole point of the document is to say that the K1 won't be a burden on the US government but I do know people who've done it that way with no issues, but also some who have (as stated above).

I heard it on visajourney that it was for students. we filled that part out anyway, i suppose you should fill out everything to be safe. everyones situation is different. if my fiance could have filed for me he would have ticked intend. but a family friend will defintely not be making specific contributions to us. his part in this is that he will support us if we can't support ourselves. hopefully that will never happen!!

If nothing else, you will make a good impression on the consul officer if you check "intend" and add a line about supporting your sweetheart's financial needs. What could it hurt?
