Donald Trump's biggest endeavour may be yet to come after he said he is mulling over a bid to challenge President Obama, who is expected to run for re-election in 2012.

"For the first time in my life, I'm actually thinking about it," Mr Trump, a self-declared Republican, told Fox News.

The businessman did not rule out the possibility of running as a representative of the Tea Party, the conservative movement that is seen as a sub-group of the Republican Party, but which some experts think could emerge as a third party.

"I am a Republican but have great respect for what the Tea Party has done because they have brought to light what's going on. I mean, we have trillion-dollar deficits.

"The country is going bankrupt, let's face it," he added.

I can't imagine Donald Trump being president. That would be so bizarre.

As for thoughts on the issue of why didn't Republicans care about the deficit until Obama became President - well not every Republican. I remember hearing about the deficit while Bush was president and it's enough to send shivers down a spine.

Either some people realized how horrible an idea it is to continue adding to it and changed their minds on spending, or are simply being partisan - which shouldn't be surprising to the partisan peeps here. So if people notice a mistake happening(way over spending)they shouldn't mention it since it was already happening when another President was in office?

I'd like to see Bill Gates or Warren Buffet get a crack at straightening the country out. Let them appoint their own team of managers and have a go at it. Maybe even Steve Jobs, except all the legislation would be iHealth, iWork, iDefense, etc.
