changing it up to MEP will take some time, about 1 to 2 weeks

but

the 'side benefit'

is that you have 'almost instant' scheduling after 'final review complete' -

ie

appointment is 'set' for a date about 3 to 4 weeks after 'final review complete'.

there is no 'case transfer' from NVC to CJ - the file is 'sent' via SAFEFILE, instead (an electronic DoS network)

and

CJ then has the file, in almost real time.

you should have the USCitizen Spouse inquire about MEP with NVC, today, soonish.

FWIW, there is an OPT IN process, but

that runs parallel with everything else.

'have filed' ? sorry, that connotes 'past tense', action done in the past.

filed where?

filed when ?

filed for what ?

what's been filed, when, and for what?

---

I hope you can understand me - if civil documents and I-864 were filed with the I-130, I'm sorry, that was the wrong thing to do, these documents are gathered up at NVC, during intake, for NVC processing, regardless of 'method utilised'.

----

You claim to be 'stalled at NVC' - and yer timeline reflects 'no documents/payments to NVC' . Do you need to update yer official VJ timeline?

---

Electronic Processing mirrors the 'postal processing' stuff at NVC.

What are __you__ talking about?

--

usually, the USCitizen Spouse handles submittal into NVC, for NVC EP.

It's OK for the Foreign Spouse to submit the DS-230 with civil documents, regardless if postal or electronic.

Hey all!!! My wife sent her upgrade letter on the 17th of September. NVC send us our case number on the 25th of november. I am wondering how long it takes NVC to upgrade petition from f2 to cr-1?? Thanks for any answers...I want to start the process already!

How did you get yer case number on the 25th of November?

I want to rent time on that time machine, skip october entirely (I hate October, usually).

NO. nothing is filled yet. I'm just telling you that my wife and mother in law have filled the application form for the 1-864. right now, they are just waiting for the NVC to ask for it then my wife just mails it overnight. So my timeline is correct, nothing has been sent or received. The only thing i know is they sent my wife a letter on the 27th of September saying our upgrade request is under process. My question now with this "MEP" how does it work? When they ask for the I-864 for example, how do i send those multipages electronically? Do you get my drift? I mean if this is done electronically does that mean, my wife and mother in law scan every page to be sent?

I meant filled as in what you do to complete an application and not filed - to submit a document....am i clear? thanks for your help...my wife is in class till late when she comes, i'll ask her to call...but i want to get all info before i confuse her...

sorry about that November....that was a typo....they sent us case number on the 27th of September....

ah - got it - my bad - was

filled

vs

filed

for me, 2 separate meanings, always.

as to 'how does it work', this MEP - review http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing#Steps

as those are the 'actual steps'.

all documents are scanned in, converted to PDF, and emailed out to NVC. Usually, the USCitizen Sponser does it, but the DS-230 can be sent from the beneficiary/Visa applicant.
