Hey all!!! My wife sent her upgrade letter on the 17th of September. NVC send us our case number on the 25th of november. I am wondering how long it takes NVC to upgrade petition from f2 to cr-1?? Thanks for any answers...I want to start the process already!

if it's at NVC, then NVC processing has already started .

the 'change of designation' will be a parallel process for your casefile,

it will not slow anything down, or speed anything up.

Suggest to the USCitizen Spouse to 'get busy' with the online payment portal stuff - see http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 for a mini-how-to .

If the casefile was still at USCIS - and the 'upgrade' was sent - THEN it'll get speed at USCIS.

NVC doesn't care. The change of designation is important, sure, but at NVC, it doesn't change any priority - you lived through the priority date from date of first filing the I-130.

NVC send us our case number on the 25th of november did you submit the ds-3032 yet?

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

what's going on with the DS-3032 ?

Did you read this? --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467

If your USCitizen Spouse is 'waiting on postal mail' - eek - this will go really slow, is about 3 months for each thing, total of 9 months, when waiting on NVC postal notices.

I'm concerned that she's not called into NVC, exchanged emails, and received back, via email, the DS-3032 kit with AOS fee bill and IIN.

What's up ?

If you need to update yer timeline to reflect recent events, please ! do so ? :D

NO !

If caesfile is at NVC, then Spouse in USA can proceed with NVC processing - designation NOT MATTER - is all types of designation, SAME SPEED AT NVC .

'speed' varies at USCIS, not NVC.

Once it's at NVC - it's all the same speed.

so - have yer spouse call NVC today, exchange emails, get the DS-3032 kit and go forth - she NEEDS the AOS FEE BILL, via email from NVC. There's only one way to get that, and she must do something.

IMO, you are 'mindset stuck' in serial mode -

when in fact

this is a 'parallel process'.

There is no barrier to starting NVC processing NOW, the designation will be successfully changed by the time the 'final review' at NVC is complete.

WHY WAIT?

in other news -

you are Nigerian, with interview in CJ, Mexico ?

Am I reading yer timeline properly ?

If that's the case,

remind yer wife that is possibility that SHE can OPT IN for Mexican Electronic Processing, at NVC, and must inquire with NVC Human about this type of processing, to see if eligible, see if can OPT IN, or no.

wait on NVC EMAIL? What?

NO NO NO

since she has given the emails to NVC, and it smells like she not have AOS fee bill via email to HER email account -

somethings wrong - it's been too much time.

NVC rarely emails anything out, except that 'ds-3032 kit' with the AOS fee bill.

Suggest to yer wife to call in to NVC again today, ask specifically ,'Please send me AOS fee bill via email'.

Can't start the process, with out the IIN, which is inside the AOS fee bill EMAIL.

Ya, I know, we've skewed off of yer topic, but no AOS fee bill? don't lag on this, be pro-active, call call call into NVC until AOS fee bill arrives in EMAIL. (her email)

DO have her inquire also, about MEP. If she can use it, then interview date can 'get' very fast.

(Let me know if you not understand difference between serial vs parallel, as well)

Also remember guys....I am still in the F2 catergory meaning a numerical limit. Until they upgrade me to immediate relative, i can't receive anything yet. I still have to kinda wait for my priority date...thats why the upgrade is necessary....Hope i'm a bit clear

It is here - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/277547-nvc-electronic-processing-october-2010/

You are correct. Without they upgrade your petition to "immediate relative" category, it won't move faster. So, keep chasing them until this one is upgraded.
