Hello

looking for advise. How long after the London Embassy receives your Packet#3 and you do not receive your interview letter do you contact them? And what is the best way to contact? We are now over 5 weeks since receipt of packet#3. I've seen several others receive their interview dates with similiar timelines.

I've contacted the NVC and they were no help. Only said that fiance' is eligible and that no interview date has been issued. Any advise would be wonderful.. The wait is terrible....thanks :)

You might want to ask in the UK Regional forum as they'll know first-hand since they've been through it themselves. :)http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

I know it's awful, and it's not the shortest anyone's ever waited, but 5 weeks is within their processing times. Especially as DOS confirms that they logged your application, there's really nothing left to do. Some people have asked the DOS operator to check a different field to see if there are any special notes on the file, but I admit to not having that much experience talking to them.

The waiting's toughest when you don't know how long it will be, I know. In a few weeks you could try calling the embassy extortion line to see if you can joggle it loose, but I don't think it would be a good use of your money just yet.

Have you tried contacting the DOS. They should be able to tell you, when and if your packet 3 info was logged in at the embassy, and if an interview date has been sorted.

Try this useful info from a thread that, 'Dodi' once posted http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

thanks everyone. I called today and all the lady could say was that the case was still pending and no interview date has been given yet. I asked for any suggestions and she said you just have to wait for the date. I told her our notice expires in 6 weeks and she said that's no problem they will extend it. We have done nothing wrong so I know it's not on hold for anything like that. I just feel so helpless. Starting to feel like our dream is slipping away. thanks again.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention. Sometimes it seems as though London assigns interviews in batches. Keep an eye on the interview thread in the UK forum. When people start getting interviews, you'll see people posting there. frequently those waiting all end up getting theirs in about the same week. Hang in there! It'll happen, and it's totally worth it - this trouble is nothing at all compared with how happy you will be when you're together. This is only temporary, just keep that in mind.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion

This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.
