I need some HELP!!

MY parents are scheduled to fly this Sunday. They live in the province and we're not aware that they have to do the CFO seminar. IS this a requirement?? Are they going to miss their flight if they don't have this seminar? Please advice!!

Are your parents coming to visit or do they have a visa? If they are immigrating to the US they will have to have the seminar. Luckily, it only takes a few hours and you can usually get in without any problems.

They have offices in Cebu & Mania

This is required for those migrating to another country. Yes, at the airport they normally check your CFO sticker before they let you check in if you don't have it they will ask you to go to the immigration desk and speak to an immigration officer. I remember one lady in the airport has not taken this and was not allowed to check in and was ask to attend the seminar and re book her flight.

You can call this number to inquire or ask your parents to inquire if they have to attend the seminar or the sticker to their passport. Here is the number 63 2 913 6439 or 63 2 9111814. They have schedules at 8:30, 11:00 am and 1:30 pm and they get the sticker the same day.

They have a visa. They live in Negros quite far from Cebu and Manila and it's already Friday I don't think they can fly to Manila or cebu now.

Can they do proxy?

NO, you need to re-schedule their flight then so that they can attend the CFO in Manila or Cebu

What kind of visa do they have? If it is a visitor visa, CFO is not required.

Immigrant visa. Is there anyway that they can make it here without the CFO sticker? I'm sad we just found out about this.

No, Philippine Customs won't let them pass without the CFO sticker in their passports...

My wife said that the US Embassy was telling all intending immigrants of the CFO requirement at their interviews last November. Also doesn't the USEM Website page regarding immigrant visas mention the CFO requirement?

MY parents have been to the US Embassy and they were not informed about this. The site just has a link on the side not so clear. Just suck b/c the office is located only in Manila or Cebu. Oh well they will eventually get here..

Not the job of USEM to inform them on what they need or don't need for CFO! Try the link, in my OP it's very clear on what they need for CFO .

If there is enough time (as in, they have everything ready to go already) get them on the next plane to Cebu. Are they in Bacolod? (maybe I'm confused where Negros is) There are flights from there to Cebu on PAL. Have them take the seminar on Thursday, and catch the next flight after that back home. Depending on their schedule and individual circumstances it can still be possible. The intra-Philippines flights are pretty cheap (just P882 for some cebu-manila flights in the evening for example, current price for this week)

If there's not enough time, they can try to reschedule their US flight with the airline. My last visit to the Philippines was extended and I was able to reschedule for no fee (Asiana Airlines). Sometimes some airlines do this depending on circumstances. There are many tricks and restrictions involved, so it might take a while talking on the phone with the airline to get to the bottom of it. If they can't reschedule the flight and aren't able to get to the seminar in time, then you'll have to book a new flight. They WILL NOT be allowed to leave with an immigrant visa without the CFO seminar.

The Philippines government requires the CFO sticker, not the U.S. government.

Learn my lesson as well, I bought my brother a ticket for Saturday and called the CFO tonight for my brother's seminar, gal on the phone said the first available seat is on Oct. 20.I'm doomed, I asked him to walk in, hopefully but maybe not, he can get in.
