Good Day!

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before but I have been reading through posts and could not find the answer to my question. I am hoping that somebody could help and possibly point me to the right direction.

Scenario: My parents just arrived in the US on tourist visa a couple of days back to help me out since I am due to give birth. A day after they arrived, we received the interview letters for their petition scheduled in November.

My question is:

1. Is there an alternative to having them come back to our home country before the interview date so they can complete their physical and be there for their appointment? I am hoping that since they are already in the US that there is possibly a way to have their interview here instead of sending them back home.

Your kind responses are greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Atchuku

a whole lot of time/energy/money went into getting the casefile to Manila.

It's not just the physical transport - there were background checks, and adjudication .

Now you have some hope to have the casefile moved into USA? OK !

Alas, the only way to file something NOW,

is via I-824 (385 per person)

then with an I-485 afterwards. (1010 per person)

This will take about 8 months, IMO,

and

I think is about the same amount of money, all things considered,

to get them on the plane, get some medical exam.

The good news, is that you can get them return tickets from usa/phil/usa - and it's a bit cheaper.

If I were in yer shoes, I'd scramble to get them back to Manila in time,

as the visa type they are interview for,

is an IR-5

and once they 'get that' -

they'll have '10 year cards' when they return to USA.

a 10 year card trumps a lot of silliness, yes?

Sorry about the pregnancy, though.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
