Hey there people. Long time no speak. We left Moldova on the 26th of May and arrived on the 27th in Maryland after getting stuck in Italy for 20 hours due to losing our flight. Woo! We got married this past Saturday. It was beautiful. Her getting adjusted was a little difficult at first, but now everything is gravy. I can't believe there are still October filers waiting, crazy stuff. The whole waiting thing feels like a distant memory now. It get's better guys. Hang in there. So, now on to the next step in the process. I can't wait to be finished with all this and call it a day. Anyway. I'm back, for now, if you guys have questions or anything, shoot!

You live happily ever after ;)

It will take ~2 weeks for her to be in the system from POE in order to apply for a SSN so that you guys can then apply for the marriage license. You get married than file for Adjustment of Status, Employment Authorization and all that other fun stuff. Make sure you file everything at the same time so that you don't pay double fees. That is the big picture in a nutshell. I am sure there is a more detailed thread on this though.

Congrats to all of you guys with visas in hand and the ones with interviews approaching. Smooth travelings !

Hahaha. Already married with the SSN # that was previously given to her while she was here on the J1, I am going today to apply for a new card for her, haha, did I mess up?
