He asked me and my fiancee the questions. Most were to me and then he'd ask her the same question in a different way.

If one were to receive their visa, could they purchase seperate tickets to get to their destination, or would it have to be one ticket all the way through to the final destination?

im not sure if i understand your question BUT i think you are asking if you can buy a ticket to one destination and then another ticket from that destination to America?

if thats the question, the answer is YES of course you can. make sure you take into account how long u will stay at the first destination, if your fiance needs a visa or a transit visa. Also know if you book separate tickets, the airline will not usually book your bags straight through to your final destination (unless its separate airlines as part of a package like on expedia i think) and you will have to get your bags and recheck in possibly.

Our interview went well... We arrived 20 minutes early, but they didn't open the doors until exactly 9:00AM. We went to one section for them to scan our medical packet. Went back to the main building and was called immediately to window #2. There, she took two copies of her Birth Certificate, I-134 Form (without any tax papers, letters from work, paystubs, or anything at all), Medical Packet, Police Certificate, and her Passport. After that, we were asked to be seated, as we sat waiting we saw a gentleman looking over our papers, little did we know that he was the Consulate Officer. He was smiling and laughing while looking through it all, so that seemed like a good sign. A few minutes later he called us into the little room, both of us as I expected. He was very polite, smiling a lot and asking how we are doing. Asked me how long I have been here, when do I plan to return home. He then asked my fiancee to leave the room. He then asked me how we both met eachother. I told him the entire story. He laughed and smiled all the way through then asked me to leave the room and ask my fiancee to enter. He then asked her the same question, called me back into the room. Told her to raise her hand for an oath, and said "Can you come back next Tuesday at 4:00PM to pick up your visa?". lol... I told him I would hug him if he wasn't behind a glass window, lol. He replied, hug your fiancee with a smile. He was a really nice guy and everything went a lot smoother than I thought it would. All that worrying, taking pictures on Skype and other evidence that they didn't even bother to ask for. All and all, it took 25 minutes total. Today is a good day, next week we will be on our way home.

I was to thank everyone for their support and help on this long journey. It is appreciated. I couldn't have done it without you guys.

I wish the rest of you who are waiting lots and lots of luck. For those of you who have just begun the process, hang in there, the end does come.

UPDATE: My fiancee had her interview and was APPROVED on 05/20/11 . I will be travelling withing a month to see her and have a civil ceremony with her family before migrating to the Usa.
