I, too, was "touched" today. I like it! ;-)

Just received our NOA1 on 16 Oct too. The notice date is 08 Oct :)

How do you know when your application is touched or if there are any changes? Are you notified by email? I created an account on the USCIS website for updates but have not seen any changes as of yet.

Good luck

When you make an account on the site, you can add cases by case number. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do on the left there is the option for "Sign-in to my account". Once you have an account and sign in there will be a link in the middle of the page titled "Add a case to your portfolio", enter in the number you recieved on your NOA1. Once a case is added it will show up and you will see a table with "Select Receipt Number E-mail Alert Mobile Alert Last Updated(mm/dd/yyyy) Form Number Form Title " with your case info below each of those.

Where it says Last Updated(mm/dd/yyyy)is where you can tell if you were touched. Essentially, if you checked it yesterday and the last updated column said 10/16/2010 and today it says 10/17/2010, it means you were "touched". So if you know the last date that was in the "Last Updated" column and you check in the future at any point and it has changed, it was touched. Though touches really don't mean anything (could be they moved the file from point A to point B, moving the file to a new room, etc etc).

Hmmmm.... I would have thought that I would be an October filer since my NOA1 has a notice date of October 5th even though it was received on September 30th.

If I truly am a September filer then ok. I will visit the September filers thread. Thanks for the info.

I personally would go by the date they actually logged it in, which would be the NOA1 date, as the day you 'sent' it, it was in route via mail/ups/fedex etc and not really in their possession.

Well that's just it. They did have it on September 30th at the Texas Lockbox. I suspect that it was received and logged in at CSC on October 5th and that they issued the NOA1. Not that it really matters much, but for VJ purposes, am I considered a September filer since my petition was received at the Texas Lockbox on September 30 or am I a October filer since my NOA1 is dated October 5.

The NOA1 says RECEIVED DATE: September 30, 2010 and NOTICE DATE: October 05, 2010

I'm so confused...:(:D

Mmmmm, I would suspect no real work was done until CSC got it, which would be after Sept. 30, as the Texas Lockbox just cashes the check and sends it to CSC for processing.
