wow VSC is at a complete standstill lately. :(

xlbLoOdlx, congrats ! I am myself flying to meet him (only for a few days)because that is all the time I can take off of work but if you can take off more time than that is great for you. As for the J1 make sure she does not fall under the 2 year Foreign Residence Requirement. If she does and the two years have not passed, she needs to apply for a waiver. I had to go through a similar ordeal with the J1 8 years ago. It's not fun. Here's a link with more info :

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/info/info_1296.html

Best of luck to you, enjoy the time you will be spending together and lets hope its a speedy return to the states.

Thank you! Congrats to you too. She does NOT fall under the requirement. I checked while she was still here. Clearly stated on her visa that she does not need to fulfill a 2 year requirement.

AND OH MY GOD, how much I will enjoy this time with her. I have the butterflies already and my flight isnt until April 4th.

I guess my last post didn't register... I am flying out to be with her for 90 days. I obviously will not be working during this time, but will still be employed. How will this affect the process?

it wont matter that you took time off from work as long as u r employed and can meet the income requirements. I highly doubt USCIS will say you can't support your her because you took a vacation.

Hi guys,

Since you are always a big pot of knowledge I was wondering if you could help me out with a little checklist I am working on.

I am meeting my fiance in the next couple of weeks and while we are waiting for the NOA2 I wanted to prepare somewhat of a packet of documents to give him since mailing might and most likely will take a while. Here is what I have on my checklist:

- copies of 3 years of tax returns

- updated letter of intent

- skype/voip call logs

- a copy of I-134 or I-864 ?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

just my 2 cents about what I am preparing, I am making a book (3 ring binder) with anything and everything he might need. I have everything organized including copy of the original I-129F package, copy of NOA1 and NOA2, copy of my passport and birth certificate, all of originals of the proof sent with the I-129f. Then on to financial documents signed copy of the I-134, bank statements, taxes, cosponsor information similarly. then proof on ongoing relationship, ticket stubs, hotel receipts, boarding passes, visa and stamps, chats and more photos.

I also left blank spaces in the book for my SO to put their required documents so that everything can be in one place.

Do we really need three years worth of tax transcripts? I was in school and had a "hold-me-over" job during that time. I would much rather not even show them my previous taxes. What does it matter, I thought that they are just worried about what your CURRENT income is?

So, I bought my ticket a few hours ago. I am flying out March 14th, and returning on July 14. I had a few questions earlier that I can not think of at this moment, but as soon as I do, I will post again.

So, I will have my Letter of Employment, which will be dated for April 13, 2010, since I am leaving April 14th, Do you think that this will present a problem?

Everything else that I will need will be mailed to my by my family.

Help me think of what else I will need. I will already be bringing...

Copy of I-129F Package

Proof of ongoing relationship (Skype Video Snapshots, E-Mails, Cards & Physical Mail)

- Of course I will have more evidence since I will be there with her for the amount of time it

takes before the interview

Letter of Employment

My plane ticket and supporting documentation (Itinerary, etc..)

What else can you think of?...

Thank you, I am creating a list of things I need to bring with me.

W-2? I am a Commissioned Agent, and I have never done my own taxes. I file a 1099, will I still receive a W-2?

Can you think of ANYTHING else that I need to bring with me?

and since I am a Commissioned Agent, I receive my paychecks from a business account, could I just request copies from my bank and provide those?

Well I am the benficiary so I dont know about the american Tax System.

You should have a Tax Script stating your official Income different from the letter from your employer.

It is like you need that to confirm the truth of the nr..

And def the recent pay stubs. If you dont have any kind of w2 or something to confirm the statement of employer, bring the whole last years pay stubs..

The issue is that you NEED the NOA 2 when it comes to you.She will need a Copy for the Interview.

Yeah.. I understood, I appreciate the concern. My family is good to me in the sense of getting me the information that I need. So as soon as it is mailed to my address in the U.S., my mother will be FedExing it to me A.S.A.P.

Good luck with your situation. We all know how it feels to be away from out loved ones. I just can't take it anymore, which is why I decided to fly to Moldova and spend the rest of the time with her there, waiting together (Much Easier).

I pray and hope that our interview will be held within this timeframe. She doesn't want to fly back alone, and we are hoping to fly back together of course.

Right now I have my ticket set for 90 days. If by any chance the interview is before this day, I will reschedule my flight for an earlier return with my SO by my side.

My departure flight is scheduled for April 14th! I am nervous, anxious, and every other emotion you could possibly imagine right now. It is taking its toll on me, but I know that as soon as I walk through those gates and see her face, wrap my arms around her, and finally kiss her... Everything will be perfect.

I hope that the rest of us also receive our NOA2's soon! If you are able to, I suggest flying to them... Not only will it be fantastic for the both of you, but it will also show your support at the interview, along with more evidence of a bonafide relationship.

Either way, good luck! Keep your head up, keep your hopes high, and don't ever give up! You WILL make it!

i was considering flying back to be there for the interview and then everything in Egypt went down and the embassy is closed. So I am in America and he is in Comoros. Plus, there is no us embassy in comoros, so he has to fly to madagascar. Flights to madagascar are like $2500 roundtrip, why does air travel have to be so expensive lol.
