Bayview Park Hotel is directly in front of the U.S. Embassy. Not sure if it's the cheapest. Have you run a search in the Philippine discussion board? There are several posts about that subject. :)

Hope this helps.

Hi everybody let me ask what hotel that walking distance from U S embassy and then

cheaper one too?

Thanks to all

It's not the closest to USEM, but I recommended Casa Bocobo. It is a nice hotel, safe, clean and prices are reasonable. Call +632-526-3783 to get prices and make reservations. My wife and son are there now. We also stayed there several times last year as well and have always been very happy with it. Their website is at Casa Bocobo.

I stayed at Bayview and was not impressed. My wife went there the day before I arrived. I get all my stuff up in our room and the front desk calls and says that they have to move us to another room. So the floor they move us to is under going renovations and our room looked like one of the rooms that needed to still be renovated with flaking wallpaper and a general dirtiness.

If you want cheap, but acceptable, try the Soriente Hotel. It is close to St Lukes and the US Embassy. A lot of girls taking there medicals stay there, or at least they did when my wife got her medical. It use to be around 1000 pesos a night. If you want really nice, then the Lotus Garden is the one, however, you pay for what you get.

I like the Blackstump, (02) 523-8167, corner of Del Pilar & Padre Faura, above the Iseya Restaurant, about 2 blocks from the Embassy. Rooms are 1200PHP/night, with A/C, fridge, etc. It's not the Hilton but it's cheap, reasonably nice, especially the rooftop restaurant/bar. It's a busy corner, but the rooms in back and higher up (4th/5th floor) are quiet.
