Hi,

I need someone's help/guidance for my case. Really do not know what to do.

My spouse's F2 visa was denied the second time today in Mumbai.

Both of us were denied a visa(F1 for me, and F2 for my wife) in August 2010. There was a lady at the embassy in Mumbai who took our interview who really grilled me, but did not ask my wife any questions. She said she is giving me the visa, but is denying my wife her F2. However, when I recieved the passport a day later, my F1 was denied also.

The second time, I reapplied only for me(thinking that we both should apply separately) with additional documents and had my interview in September 2010. The additional document was a letter from my current company that they will give me my job after completion of my studies in the US. This document showed that I am going for further studies on the request of my company and will join them back after my education. On the basis of this, after the second interview, I was granted the visa.

However today, my wife was denied her F2 after showing the same kind of additional document, that her employer will give her job back after 2 years. The lady at the embassy only asked my wife 3 questions, after which she was denied the visa.

1. How old is your husband?

2. When is his session starting?

3. When did he go to the US?

We have all sorts of documents supported: financial showing enough liquid and fixed assets, ties to home family, jobs lined up in India, but still don't know what went wrong.

Any advise would be much appreicated. Should my wife re-apply to the embassy in New Delhi, this time stating that she has quit her job and is living with her in-laws in New Delhi?

Now a days mumbai rarely issue F2 visas. So its totally depends on luck. You can try 1 more time with some more evidance that we both will come back to India. Provide some more ties that will cause them to issue her visa.

Good luck
