I read somewhere that they should know us from before our marriage to current date.

We have a wonderful couple (husband has high Gov Security Clearance) that met my husband 2 weeks after our wedding and me about 5 months later. Are they appropriate?

Similarly I have another individual who knew my husband for a number of years, knew he was getting married, ended up hiring me but didn' meet me until 6 months after our wedding (although he knew of me well before the wedding)

Any idea? (I know affidavits are weak evidence, but we will include them and want to include some that meet criteria)

K-1 Application

10th October 2007 - NOA1 issued

31st January 2008 - NOA2 issued

22nd May 2008 - Interview date

18th July 2008 - US here I come

22nd August 2008 - Wedding date

AOS

15th September 2008 - AOS Pack (I485, I131, I765) Sent

22nd September 2008 - NOA1 x 3 Received

6th October 2008 - Transferred to CSC

17th October 2008 - Biometrics

5th December 2008 - EAD & AP approved

20th February 2008 - GC approved

I-751

================

1st December 2010 - I-751 Sent (CSC)

3rd December 2010 - I-751 Received

7th December 2010 - Cheque cashed

3rd January 2011 - Biometrics

I'd think it is most important that they know the two of you now, whether or not they knew you before. It is good if they have a lot of in-person contact with the two of you as a couple in recent times.

I personally don't give much weight to Affidavits if there is other strong evidence to support your case. I am sure Affidavits are the last on USCIS's list as well, next to emails, cards and proof of gifts. If you have children, joint assets, insurances, or accounts, thats what USCIS is interested in.
