I NEED help!

Okay so my fiance got his visa and it has his middle name spelled BrendEn and it's suppose to be BrendAn. What do I do? I'm going to call the DOS tomorrow and try to get him to call the Embassy but right now I'm freaking out!!! And also what exactly do they receive and new passport AND visa or just the Visa? Please help

He should definitely contact the embassy and try to get them to issue a new visa. Minor mistakes like this become much harder to correct once he enters the US as "firstname Brenden lastname".

The US embassy cannot issue a new passport. They will cancel the existing visa, and attach a new visa to the passport.

By all means contact the embassy and get it corrected.

Mmmm this is why I made several posts on the topic of my husband's last name and his birth cert/passport. Consider yourself lucky it's not worse. First, make sure all his documents actually spell it that way, and that you didn't misspell it on any forms. If it's spelled right everywhere but the visa just call the embassy. If it's misspelled on his birth cert or passport you have a much larger issue. If it's just the visa he will have to mail or return his passport to have the corrected visa attached. You'd better call them ASAP, since his flight is so soon. You're going to be cutting it very VERY close.

Just consider this your one bump in the road, everyone has at least one and now you've had yours--interestingly the same place we had ours! Common denominator - embassy.

well we got a hold of the US embassy in Dublin. They realized it was there fault and he is going Wednesday afternoon to have them redo it and the lady was very nice and told me he would def have it before he fly's out. She said they would re print it either Wednesday afternoon or he would com eback Thursday. I will be sooooo happy once he actually has it in his hand with the RIGHT name! Thanks all!
