Hello fellow VJers! This waiting game can get the best of you. It's hard to stay positive with all this waiting sometimes. But I learned, there's no use to worrying because there's nothing you can do about it, so why waste your energy. I'm a June filer and on my 4th month. Guess that's why they call it a (visa)journey. Anyways, I was just curious if anyone here actually went back to the Philippines after filing their I-129F petition. My original hope was to bring my fiancee back with me in January (after my Xmas trip). That's looking like a real longshot now due to the NVC checkpoint and interview scheduling (which might be in Decemeber, who knows). I'm really thinking of taking a leave of absence from my job (starting Nov until early Jan.) to be with my fiancee. This long distance relationship has been hard for the both of us (emotionally). If I do decide to go next month, I'm pretty sure I'll need to bring the basic prep docs that she'll need for the interview. I'm hoping that while I'm there, I'll get approved and accompany her to the Embassy Interview (God's willing). Was there anything else I need? Or any reasons I should not go due to my petition? I could not think of any other reason. Hope you guys could help. God bless and good luck!

I can't give you any advice, BUT to answer your question: Yes! I went to see my Mahal about a month ago and while still waiting for NOA2. I can't say I actually expected anything to happen while I was there... I just missed her and decided I didn't want to wait for another six months!! Probably it wouldn't hurt to bring anything that might be useful, just in case you're approved while you're there. Best wishes! Hope neither of us will need to wait much longer.

No Problems, Just take anything ya'll might need for interview. I courted my fiance for almost 2 years while she was finishing school and yes the waiting suxs.

I made several trips to PI to spend time with her during the long wait. If your job will allow you to take a leave of absence then that sounds like a fun way to spend a couple of months in PI hanging out with your girl.
