So call me unlucky, silly or lovestruck. I thought hey!.. they are so busy working on other types of Visa at VSC. Maybe I can get someones attention. So I ordered a huge boquet of expensive flowers to send anonymously to the department. I thought someone might appreciate their beauty and take an extra 5 minutes off their lunch hour to take a peak. I also realized they may take the card off and display the flowers ....that was okay too!...But alas they turned the whole thing away and refused to accept it at all. Seventy Five dollars down the drain.

Awww. Very sweet but unfortuntely due to terrorism, and due to the threat of being accused of accepting "bribes" it's a no-go. ####### though. What happened to the flowers? Do you not get even get to send them somewhere else or anything? :(

Where do I start?

Ok, first, this is a bribe, and a relatively petty one, offered openly. This is like offering a motorcycle cop $1 to ignore a traffic infraction, and making the offer in front of his commander. Most low-level US government officials are not corrupt, and the ones that are would never accept a cheap bribe offered openly. In addition, you're dealing with a bureaucracy. It takes considerable effort for an individual working within a bureaucracy to do something which is not standard operating procedure, which is to pull a petition out of order, and a bouquet of flowers ain't much incentive for the effort involved.

Second, you could be doing yourself more harm than good. People don't usually offer bribes unless they think they'll lose without it. This could just make the adjudicator wonder why you thought it was necessary to try to bribe them, and make them look more closely at your petition.

Third, the adjudicator who is working on your petition may not even work in the service center. Some adjudicators are contractors who work from their homes, and only come into the service center occasionally to pick up and drop off petition packages. Even if the adjudicator working on your petition actually works in the service center, the odds of them actually seeing your "gift" is relatively remote. The service center is a big place with a lot of employees.

Huh, didn't know that... I'd process packages for people from home :D

Jim he said he sent it anonymously... so I don't think they'd think bribe. My first thought was "terrorism" actually.

OP - It does seem like you were just trying to be nice and I hope it doesn't affect you like Jim's saying it could :D

What exactly were you hoping to accomplish? Whatever it was, that was the wrong way to go about it. This is a long process, it takes time and patience, which most of us don't have given the situation we're in (stuck thousands of miles away from our loved ones). Unfortunately, you're just going to have to sit back and wait like everyone else and not try to send more "gifts" to the USCIS. It's not going to help you in any way, shape, or form. And as Darnell pointed out, it could do you more harm than good.

Hello red flag!

No kidding. You could have mailed a check to ME. it would have been much more useful (at least to me)

I have friends at VSC and they barely accept a soda from me when the visit me at my house! #######! Try to get them to eat a piece of birthday cake!

Next time, PM me for my address, send any foolishness to me in the form of US dollars. You will wait like everyone else. Get your interview documents ready in the meantime and remodel the bathroom or something

Yep. I have a few neighbors that adjudicate for the VSC, right on their dining room table. They go and pick up cases, process them and return them. They have access to what they need. I even applied for one of those jobs myself. Pays pretty good and you can work at your own pace (they do have an expected "quota", but you can work on them at 2am if you want...naked. maybe TMI)

The VSC was divided and about half the office workers now work in an old IBM office building in Essex Jct., Vermont. About 20 miles from St. Albans.
