I will be submitting our I-129F packet in a couple short weeks (fiancee will be signing while I'm in JA). I didn't think that I would experience nervousness...

Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited about my sweetheart being here and us starting our lives together - its just all of the unknowns (marital success, employment, extended family, etc.)...

I'm curious, has anyone had these feelings, concerns/fears?? Did you share this with your fiance(e)?

July 2007 We met in Jamaica, WI (Monetgo Bay) through mutual friends
Oct. 2010 Formally Engaged!!!!
Nov 1, 2010 Mailed I-129F to Lewisville, TX (via Fed Ex)
Nov 2, 2010 Fed Ex received by J. Cates

Yes! I went through it my now husband been through it and we are still going through it. I believe it is all part of the process. We discussed it when he was still in Jamaica and as other have said he going through it too.It is a long process and take time, work, and patience. I will be honest it not easy and there are many of time you both may get pissed off at each other but that comes along with any relationship. Do what you heart tells you to do. Good Luck and best wishes with your journey

I've thought about this a lot, and even though it's a bit cliché, I do believe love doesn't care about circumstance, and regardless of the choices you make, life really is full of challenges. You're equipped to face the challenges, and with a cherished partner, doubly so...IMO. Focus on your communication, speak your mind, and take the time to understand your partner.

all we have had a similar experience, the important thing is talk about it now and be aware that you both will have difficult times but also happy moments. Is better express your fears and emotions now and not wait to be living together to do it.

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

I agree with what everyone has been saying! Definitely communicate your emotions with your SO. I'm sure he has concerns/fears as well. This process is not easy and even when you get your SO other here with you, new things will arise. Just keep the honest lines of communication open and you'll be fine. Best wishes!

Thanks everyone for your replies and encouragement. I guess in the end I'm afraid of failure (isn't everyone - lol) but I know that our success is up us. What Jah puts together no man can distroy. Thanks again :D

The day after we sent off the package I had huge regrets and decided that he should be moving to Canada rather than me moving down there. Then I calmed down and realized that we've thought about this for a long time and there were many reasons we chose the US to be our home. So don't worry! I'm not married yet, but I'm guessing its going to be the same right before I walk down the aisle, "am I marrying the right guy? what if we dont work out" etc...

Everyone gets cold feet sometimes. Just remember the good things and why you decided to do this in the first place. Everything will work out how it is supposed to!

Good luck to you two!
