Do anyone know how long Ghana is takin 2 approve the I-601 and I-212?

There are some posts in the Africa Regional Discussion regarding how long the interview scheduling is taking due to high diversity lottery processing load. This might effect the I601 processing times, not sure. It looks like it has been a long time in the process for you , might want to get a

inquiry by your attorney or congress critter.

Well as far as I601 approval times 'worldwide" go, they vary from as little as 3 weeks in the fastest locations, to as long as 13-14 months in the worst case scenario. If you can find out what the average processing time for your USCIS post is, that will give you an idea of what to expect. I looked and could not find much info on your post unfortunately. But do update your progress to give other folks who follow behind you an idea of what to expect.

Good luck

It looks like you have already been to Interview and have been denied. What reason did you have to file I212 and I601 for? Did you get help from an attorney filling out the paperwork or did you submit on your own?

This is our first time filing the 601 and 212...Denied of what? I'm not understanding!!!!!

You submit the waivers after THEY tell you you are eligble which is during the interview at the consulate when they deny the visa you apply for. Whatever visa you will apply for will be denied if you require a wavier. Then you submit the waviers and all the evidence of hardship and start waiting all over again. Immigrate2us.net is a great site for people that need waivers.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

our visa was approved! Jst needed 2 apply 4 da 212 n da 601

If your Visa was approved then you wouldn't need the waivers. Maybe you mean they would have approved you but couldn't because you've been deemed inadmissible and therefore must get the waivers before they can actually approve you.

I'm still scratching my head trying to understand how this happened. During the interview the CO said he needed a current copy of my wife's income tax return and he needed to follow up on a previous CIMT I had but mentioned I should be fine and to fax the IT return the following day. He then claimed he would be in contact with me in 2 weeks time. He called a month after the interview and said my Visa was approved (but not issued), and to submit my passport which I did the next day. Two months later I get the request to file an I-601. I did have a valid I-192 waiver at this time however it expired around the same time of the I-601 request. I was advised not to renew my I-192 because my attorney assumed I would have my Visa prior to the I-192 expiring. He was right in a sense up to the point of the I-601 request. I am now unable to travel to the US because of this situation unfortunately..... On Nov. 12, 2010 I will be at the 6 month point from receipt of the I-601 at USCIS.... So, again the waiting game goes on....

The I-192 Waiver wouldn't have been good for an Immigrant Visa anyway as it is specifically to "Enter as a Non-Immigrant", maybe that was part of the confusion at the Embassy. What they're supposed to do it tell you that your Visa is denied because you are currently inadmissible and then tell you which Waiver (I-601/I-212) you need to apply for.
