Hello I forgot to ask this question on my previous posting.

I would like to ask those who did K-1 if your husbands or wifes needed to see a civil surgeon even if they had a medical exam in their country before coming to USA and also what is the approx price to see a civil surgeon? and did your wife or husband need extra vaccinations other than the ones they got prior to coming to the USA?

Thanks in advance :)

There's no need for another medical exam as long as the last one was less than 1 year ago. Only the vaccination supplement is required. We had trouble finding a civil surgeon that would do only the vaccination supplement - most of them were telling me a full physical exam is "required." Ugh! so expensive... I got tired of getting stonewalled even after reminding them of what the law says, so I just kept calling around. Finally found a clinic that did the supplement for $76.00 - maybe a bit more expensive than average (I live in Alaska), but it was one of the only places I could find.

The prices to see a civil surgeon can vary.

Our medical packet was lost so my wife had to repeat everything. However, just transcribing the vaccine portion only cost $25 or so and it was done by a woman in the medical office. The Dr. had nothing to do with it other than the stamp.

Just shop around; eventually you'll find someone who won't rip you off.

NOA 2. Really?

My husband and I had a little bit of a hard time with this step. The doctor who preformed his medical in Casablanca would not give him a copy of his medical, he told my husband that he didn't need it and it was only between the doctor and the embassy. Once my husband arrived we tried getting a copy of his medical through an info pass appointment, they didn't actually have our file and we had to fill out a form requesting it to be sent to us. After about a month and 1/2 we got tried of waiting and started to see what it would cost to have the complete medical done again. We check several places and the prices seemed outrageous. I explained our situation that we didn't have our medical information but he HAD had one with complete immunizations. We finally found one that would do a tider, which would see if the immunizations were in his blood... the doctor charged $50.00 for paperwork, which was extremely cheap in comparison with the others, but we had to pay for the tider which was $100.00. (He did have to redo one immunization, but I checked around and he got it from a free health clinic.) If only we had our medical from Casablanca! After another 2 months we finally heard from the people at the info pass appointment, not with our medical information, but requesting more information! Ha!
