Hi,

Im from turkey and my fiancee is from US, so in july we hired an attorney and applied for the visa.

We had to hire an attorney cuz she works in navy and now shes in deployment so we needed someone to follow processes.

Anyways, So he applied in 15 July, and in 17 July he sent me receipt number. So since 17 July, almost everyday i check my status in here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do;jsessionid=cbaAJAT4iiROD8r7tz_Ts

But still there is no change, it seems they didnt even touch our file yet. It says that:

On July 17, 2010, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

So what do you think? I started to scare..

The three service centers that handle I-129F petitions are currently quoting a processing time of 5 months. You're not even at 3 months yet. Give it a couple more months before you start to worry.

It takes as long as it does because there are a limited number of adjudicators, and they handle tens of thousands of applications every year.

no need to scared, my noa1's date 10 june, and the last touch was on 15 june, i also dont hear anything new since tht date.

checking the visa status already became an activity for me since i check it every morning when i wake up and still nothing changes, lol.

the only thing that make me still sane just because i talk to my fiance with the webcam on beside my bed 24 hours a day

they dont always update the status though, many on vj members got their noa2 without status updated.

CSC is soo slow now, most of june fillers havent get their noa2, lets hope to get noa2 soon :)

You won't necessarily see any new dates under the "last updated" section. Not everyone gets "touched" and there is no normal amount of touches, so try not to worry about that little box. :)

Unfortunately 3 weeks before 5 months isn't the same as past 5 months, so you're going to have to wait it out. :( Also, I wouldn't put all of your hopes on that phone call either. They aren't going to whip out your petition and say "Oh yea, that one! Well, it's all approved now!" more likely, they will say "It'll take a while longer. Don't call back for 90 days."

USCIS is very much a "Don't call us, we'll call you" type of operation.
