Hello, everyone!

I am going to fly through Atlanta, so it is going to be my POE. Since I am not that good with English I am trying to learn what I will need to do when I arrive there. Step-by-step. When do I get my luggage? (I have connection flight to Portland then and so should I get my luggage in Atlanta or only in Portland?) When they take a yellow package from me? Is it a special room for immigration?

I also read that people give officers a blue paper. I am not sure what it is? Is it something like declaration? And is it nesessary to fill it out if I have nothing to declare?

I feel pretty nervous about it as I heard not so nice things about Atlanta POE. So I am trying to learn.

I would appretiate any help!

Thanks!

Forget Atlanta!

Take the Condor Air flight from Frankfurt non-stop to Anchorage. Then you can catch an easy Alaska Air flight from here to Oregon. (:

Cheers!

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Here is the link to the thread I wrote about our entry at Atlanta the end of March.

My step-daughter came through Atlanta in June and had a much easier time, only about 30 minutes. Guess it just depends on the day.

You will have to get your bag in Atlanta and take it with you to immigration. It is not a seperate room, just an area next to the baggage exit. That is where they will take your yellow package.

The blue form will be given to you on the airplane and you will need to fill it out. Yes, it is necessary to fill it out. There is an example somewhere on line....I sent it to my step daughter but can't find it now. I will keep looking. Ask if you have any other questions.
