How long would you wait after POE to go to SS office to apply for card?

10/10/09: Married in Hamilton, Ontario :)

04/01/2010 : I-130 Sent

04/16/10 : NOA1 Issued (Hard Copy)

09/02/2010: File Touched Fingers Crossed

09/24/2010: NOA2 Approval!!!

I waited three weeks to the day. Received my card six days later. (BTW I did check off the appropriate box on my DS-230.)

At the point of entry of my wife (Chicago) the officer wrote Alien # on the visa. I just don't see anything like a 551 stamp that says the visa is a green card until it come but it makes sense. I will have to study this closer.
