Here we go again. The time stated by the USCIS is 5-6 months for "normal" processing times. Once you go outside that you can ask them wants going on. Before that they will give you the standard, "we are within our stated processing times. Call back in 3 weeks." I can say this now as I am waiting for my finacee to get permission to leave her country so she can return to visit the relatives. That's another month or so.

I proposed last January. We sent off the K-1 in May. Received the NOA2 in August. Interview date set for the 7th, but posposed to the 15th, and then finally the 21st. Visa approved and in hand the 23rd. Three and a half months or something like 117 days total. That was back when California and Vermont appeared to be doing something. Lately it looks like a glacer moving is faster. So I would say, sit back, relax, and don't start worrying until you hit the four month mark. Find something to pass the time. I know reading the VJ Forums has helped me pass the time.

Hope this gives you an idea of what you are in for.

Yes!! And that is for Step 1. In my case I am now waiting for my fiancee to get premission to leave which she will submit this Friday after gathering all the paper work the Kazakhstani government wanted. It will take one month or so (her Mother is saying it wil be 1.5 months) for her to get this step completed. Then you finally get together and get marriged. Now comes the AOS which appears to be taking 4 months. Now you relax for 1.75 years before applying for removal of condition so your now spouse can get the 10 year gren card. That takes a while (I have no idea because I am not anywhere near that stage in our journey). Then your spouse can apply for US citizenship after being in the USA for 3 years and did not violate any of the rules regarding exented stay outside the USA. Once your spouse is a US citizen you can kiss the USCIS good-bye. Total time will be close to 5 YEARS!! And it will try your patience. Just remember that a journey is started with a single step and this journey will take time, patience, and money.

I wish you well.
