My UK (perm resident)husband has a sister in her 40's that is mentally/developmentally challenged living in the UK still. She currently lives with his Mother who is in ill health.

Should the need arise, do we have any options for bringing her over, either under him or myself? Does anyone have an idea??

Not right now, but once your husband is a US citizen, he can petition for her. It'll be several years until she gets the visa though.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Ugh that's not good! I wonder if they have special provisions for them? I would not want to see her go to a home :(

the only way is if your husband becomes a USC and files for her. unfortunatly for now it is taking more than 9 years. maybe in the future it will take less time.

There is the possibility of Humanitarian Parole, I have seen it used in sort of similar cases.

The big issue is finance, how would you afford the costs?
