Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen, my wife filed for family based AOS. The package was received and we got a receipt notice a month and a half ago but still no biometrics appointment letter so I called USCIS today and they started a service request.

On the phone, the officer asked for the receipt number so I gave him the receipt number for the I485. Then he did the service request and our conversation ended.

But now I am wondering if I should have given him the I765 number receipt number as well since my wife also filed I765 and we didn't get any biometrics appointment for the I765 either.

Should I call back or will the service request cover the I765 also?

I am the US citizen, my wife is the applicant.

Adjusting from J1 Trainee visa:

August 25th, 2010: Filed AOS package to USCIS

August 27th, 2010: Package received by USCIS

September 2nd, 2010: Received I797 for I-130, I-485, I-765

October 14th, 2010: Received biometrics appointment letter (will be on Nov 5th)

AOS interview will be on January 13th, 2011!

January 13th, 2011: Approved at the day of the interview

Next step, removal of conditions

The Biometrics appt will cover both the AOS and EAD, so you will be ok with just giving the receipt number for the AOS. Some ASC's are quite backed up (it took me 3.5 months to get a bio appt AFTER contacting the congressman), so it may still be a bit before you get your bio appt. Your service request response should tell you if your ASC is backed up and that you are in the queue for an appt. It won't tell you when you might get that appointment though :(
