New Delhi Interview on 9/30

Guys,

My Wife had an interview on 9/30 and they placed us in Administrative Processing and handed us white paper. The lady in Embassy told me that it will take 2-3 weeks and they will call us. They also kept my wife's passport. Please advise how long will it take? and Will she get her visa?? what i can do to speed up the process. Thanks.

There is nothing you can do to speed up AP.. it could take weeks, months or more than a year.. be patient and check with DoS each week checking on the status...

Jimmy, Did they advise you to bring any additional documents?

Or were you advised just to wait for visa issue?

Seems like Delhi COs were having a bad day on 09/30/10. I got handed a white paper as well on 09/30/10 but they asked for additional information. Did they give you any reason?

9/30 is one of the worst days of the year to have an interview.. it is the last day of the fiscal year.. they are not thinking about your case on that day.. they are thinking about all of the loose ends and reports that must be addressed.. it could just be a delay due to the end of fiscal..

another VJer also went thru the same thing with Delhi just this May. it took ~ 3 months to get the AP done and have his visa arrive in the mail. delhi seems to issue these w/o any regard - apparently there's a lot of fraud that comes thru this embassy. to the original poster and Iqha, were your marriages >2 yrs to your spouses? did you present adequate evidence of your bonafide marriage? i think that's what triggers them to do that. best of luck!

Same here... Delhi Embassy kept her passport, give us a white letter, didn't request anything. We have been on AP for more than 67 days... :( :( :(

Nothing, they gave us white letter, and said you r in ap. Marriage less than yr. Provided all docs. They returned us some docs bak n told us 2-3 weeks. Kept passport.. My wife passpory is 8 yr old. Cpuld this be it??

Now only option is just wait. You can send emails to Embassy once in a while (may be every week or two) to enquire it.

It can take few weeks to months. Keeping passport with them is a good sign, BTW.

3-4 weeks usually at Delhi. Can be as long as 3 months for AP. Even longer. Nothing to do but just wait it out.

Hey, I know how aggervating and dissappointing this process is. My Husband also had his interview in New Delhi and was put on AP... ours lasted 2 months.... longest 2 months of my life... I tried to contact everyone I could think of to speed up the process, (State Rep, The President, News Reporters etc.) hehehehehe I didnt say I was the brightest person but I was going crazy.... In the long run the only thing IMO that you can do is wait... The embassy also told us a few weeks... and everytime my Husband or I called them they would say call back next week... Anyways hang in there!!!

sad thing is you cant call embassy anymore.. only vfs
